Week 29 PBID Question

This week's question comes from the oldest book that's been featured in the #PBIDchallenge so far. This book won a Caldecott Medal, and the author was the first person to be awarded the Caldecott Medal twice. (There is also another picture of this duck family somewhere on this website, but I'm not telling where!)

Good luck with the question and good luck finding that other picture!

What are the names of these eight ducklings?

  1. The ducklings were named: Jack, Cack, Lack, Mack, Nack, Ouach, Pack, and Quack. The kids noticed that all the names end with -ack. If they had any other ducklings, my kiddos have some name suggestions: Hack, Brack, Tack, Snack, Clack, Sack, Rack, and Stack.

The names of the ducklings are: Jack, Kack, Lack, Nack, Mack, Ouack, Pack, and Quack. We were trying to figure out how to say 'Ouack'? Do you say it with the ou sound like in ouch?
Also the other book that author won the award for was Time of Wonder. We read it on the author page at the back of the book.
